Seeker Saga

It does not have a conclusion. Lots of questions and no answers. Book three is not going to come out. It was due out in June 2012 and a quote from the author said she is starting a new trilogy which I will not buy. The book has too many lose ends, started too many streams and went no where with them. It is as if the author lost interest in her own story which is maybe why she did not every finish the last book of the trilogy.

VAST improvement

This book is 100 times better than the first.
No, that's not an exaggeration. When I read Chosen, the first in the series, I almost fell asleep. While there was a good story underneath it all, the execution of Chosen was lackluster and the plot was SLOW. A lot of things were left frustratingly unresolved. But, I don't like to give up on a series until I see it through, which is why I picked up Forbidden.
This book picks up where the first left off, but RIGHT AWAY there's action. There's legitimate danger. I was pulled in from the first chapter.. something that I never felt really happened in the first book for me. In fact, I couldn't stop reading. There's no more of Tracy's boring internal dialogue, which is replaced by an accute and real sense of danger. The characters that were introduced in the first book all come to life in this one, and all develop their own real, distinctive personalities - the lack of which was one of my major gripes about Chosen.
There are a lot of things that are resolved, too. Plotlines that were left hanging in the first book (where did the crystals come from? how did they end up on Traven Island? etc etc) are settled nicely, and in a very satisfactory way. You also get to see some of the real motivations behind the 'bad guys', which was also sorely lacking in Chosen. But this doesn't happen at expense of the story, which moves forward at a throttling pace. I'll admit, I was skeptical after reading the description of Forbidden, but I can honestly say it lives up 100% to what I would expect.
5/5 for Forbidden, and a 2/5 for Chosen for me. The author truly redeems herself in her second outing, and I'll be waiting with bated breath for the third book. Hopefully it's a lot more like Forbidden than Chosen.

mad. what a waste of time.

Do not start this series because the author has not finished it. Everything I have read indicates she has no plans to finish it either. In my opinion she did not finish this book. Simply added a period and put it out there for people to buy. Amazon please take all her books off you book list. How dare she take money from hard working individuals then give them garbage like this. I've read her web sites and comments. States she's bored with this series. Well I'm board with her and will never read another book of her regardless the name she uses. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME AMAZON please remove this author
